The aim of Guidance and Counselling cell of Kumadvathi College of Education is to provide comprehensive guidance and Counselling programs and services that will equip students with necessary knowledge, attitude and skills to become mature and socially responsible individuals and remove barriers that hinder their growing potential and feel more equipped to find their way in the world.

The Guidance and Counselling Cell caters to diverse socio-economic challenges, specific emotional needs, psychological needs, also the social, and cultural barriers of the heterogeneous cluster of learners. Members of the Guidance and Counselling Cell provide individual counselling at the College as well as online Counselling Services. The counsellors pay attention to each client compassionately and channel them to subsume with their tribulations through reflection and self-awareness. The cell guides the students of the College to enhance their overall personality and ensures that every student-teacher wears a smile on her face after the counselling session.

Objectives of Guidance Counselling Cell :

1. To facilitate students to unravel their Personal, Academic and Psychological issues.
2. To conduct workshops, seminars and special events to assist students in career planning.
3. To acknowledge their strength and overcome weaknesses, if any
4. Nurturing through the remedial teaching program.
5. Mentoring through an individual counselling by the counsellor.
6. Provide various comprehensive psychological services to students and resolve their emotional, behavioural, academic and social issues.
7. To provide personal development and adjustment to the student – teacher.
8. To provide the self-understanding by knowing the self-potentials, special aptitudes and interests among the student – teachers.
9. To facilitate the awareness of recognition and development of favourable attitudes and habits and to eliminate the undesirable traits among the student – teachers.
